Constructing and Reconstructing the Judicial System for the Judicial Yuan
Case background:
Driven by a trend in digital transformation, e-governance reconstruction has become a pressing issue for the Government of Taiwan. In line with the Government's digital strategy, the Judicial Yuan must consider how to use forward-looking and secure information technology to reconstruct judicial services and related systems, so as to achieve the following objectives:
To facilitate access to the courts and increase judicial transparency and public confidence in the justice system.
To reduce the workload of judges, optimize the quality of trials and conserve national resources.
Project objectives:
The information system for judicial trials is extensive, so the reformation project must: Optimize and digitalize the civil and criminal justice systems, including civil, criminal, administrative, civil execution, investigation protection, drawings, registration, notarization, judicial police, etc.Provide information-safe storage and access management for case collection, case division, case management, adjudication, written records, court records, digital recording, examinations, statistics, archives, etc. Provide online public prosecution services and diverse payment services for public cases and public inquiry services such as the main text of the ruling, the written ruling, the court period and auction announcements, as well as various other actions such as the progress of case and court hearings. Provide access to a single login for a diverse set of terminal devices from 30 user agencies across the country, including summary courts, district courts and high courts, with more than 8000 users, including judges, prosecutors and lawyers at all levels.
